My first job

I recently got my first job in the security industry after completing my CP training & getting my licence, my first job was to patrol a campsite at Leeds music festival and trust me I learned a lot. If your new to the industry here is what I learned first of it takes time to get your first job don't give up and keep trying, invest in good quality walking boots trust me after 12 hours walking around you want your shoes to be comfortable cause you get to do it all again the next day, take plenty of layers of clothing cause just because its hot during the day the nights get cold, take waterproofs even cheap nasty ones will do to start with because there would be nothing worst than walking around for 12 hours wet trust me I had to listen to the people who forgot them, don't be afraid to ask questions and get involved tell people what you've done before the one thing I noticed was how willing to help & give advise people where once they knew I was on my first ever job & never done anything like this before, if working on a festival try and find out where as many things are as possible such as stages, discos, car parks, toilets etc cause most of the people you are dealing with just want to know where to go.

Most importantly enjoy the experience if you don't enjoy what it is your doing those will be long 12 hour shifts.
