With the growing requirement for response team staff at events over the past seasons Elite have designed the first Tactical Event Support Officer's qualification. This qualifica-tion enhances response teams and event supervisor's knowledge and capacity to operate safely and competently in today's event industry. Tactical Event Support Officer (TESO) will enable delegates to effectively and efficiently supervise and be part of response teams at events. The syllabus covers areas including First on Scene, Pit Operation, Evidence Handling, Body Camera and CCTV recording, Control and Restraint Physical Intervention, Handcuffing, Proficient Searching of Areas and Persons and all necessary Legislation and Guidance. Pre-requisites for this course are to already hold a: Level 2 in Door Supervision Level 2 Security Guarding (with the additional level 2 physical intervention unit) Level 3 in Close Protection (with the additional level 2 physical intervention unit) NVQ in Event Safety at Level 2 with 3 years' experience. Minimum of 3 years in the Event Safety and Security Industry. It is also recommended that Candidates have completed the Elite Mechanical Restraints course (But NOT Compulsory) Assessment for this course will be in the form of a work book and on-going assessment of work based learning. Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following; The duties of an officer when working in the front of stage pit area Understand how to reduce risk by safe searching and search planning Be able to explain evidence handling procedure Be able to safely remove people from an event Understand the use of surveillance as an aid to safety at an event We have already had a number of National event companies express their interest along with committed bookings for their response teams for this training. They have quickly recognised the potential this qualification holds when tendering for and operating event contracts. The Tactical Event Support Officer (TESO) qualification will become very much a necessity within the industry as opposed to a desired qualification to have.
