Qualification: BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection, Level 2 FPOS-I
This accredited qualification has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA ‘Specifications for Learning and Qualifications for Close Protection Operatives’ and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a close protection operative.
Subjects covered include roles and responsibilities of the Close Protection Operative, threat assessment and risk management, surveillance techniques and venue security operations, unarmed combat, introduction to advance driving.
The minimum contact hours for this qualifications are 138 hours of the required 140 guided learning hours.
Individuals achieving this qualification can progress onto a range of qualifications such as the Foundation Degree in Protective Security Management. Individuals successfully completing the licence to practice qualification in Close Protection can be awarded 16 credits towards this Foundation Degree and also the Foundation Degree in Crowd and Safety Management and the Certificate in Terrorism Studies.
Accredited by Btec Level 2, lasting 3 years with a refresher option to be completed within the final year. The course is just 4 days (minimum 30 hours).
This course is designed to advance the First Aider on to the next skill level by achieving the First Person On Scene Award. Throughout the training individuals will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency. This course will help individuals to gain the knowledge enabling them to work individually or as part of a team in a variety of situations and locations throughout the world.
