Qualification: HABC Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection; BTEC FPOS-I
This accredited qualification is ideal for those who wish to operate as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry in the UK and to also apply for an SIA Licence in this field. It has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the Private Security Industry. Should a candidate wish to deploy into hostile environments, then they will still require the same certification and licence. Should the candidate have no military operational tours then it will be highly unlikely that their services will be seconded into austere or hostile details. Subjects covered include roles and responsibilities of the Close Protection Operative, threat assessment and risk management, surveillance techniques and venue security operations.
The purpose of the First Person on the Scene Intermediate (FPOS-I) qualification is to provide immediate life support to the patient pending the arrival of definitive pre-Hospital care. Effective interventions have been shown to make a difference to survival outcome and are reflected in the syllabus.
