Description:

We are extremely proud to introduce our new Close Protection course in Barcelona. This course has been intensively developed over some time to provide a truly unique opportunity. Whilst we are already known for providing the highest standards in training, with our new Barcelona close protection course, we have created a benchmark in close protection training for UK operatives in continental Europe. As it stands, there is no other provider anywhere who offers the opportunity to train in one of the World’s major cities outside of the UK on a scale such as this. We are not simply passing you on to another organisation and claiming the course as our own. By working together with our partner company Omnis in Spain, a specialist solutions company set up by a former ARG student, we are providing ARG contend that is delivered by ARG directing staff. The course includes no less than 11 live exercises in the public domain split between close protection and surveillance operations. This course is currently exclusively available to students from the UK and provides each student the opportunity to apply for their UK SIA licence and gain several qualifications that can elevate them within the industry. These qualifications include:

  • HABC Level 3 Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry
  • HABC Level 3 Surveillance Operations
  • AoFA Level 3 First Person on Scene
  • ARG Certificate in Close Protection Operations (Advancement beyond SIA standards)
  • ARG Certificate in Pistol Competency in Close Protection (PCCP)
  • ARG Certificate for Advanced Driving Awareness in Close Protection
  • ARG Certificate in Fundamentals of Open Source and Human Intelligence (OSINT/HUMINT)

WHAT DO STUDENTS GET OUT OF THE COURSE?

  • A truly unique opportunity to complete world class close protection training that is unavailable from any other provider, anywhere.
  • Unique experience of operating in one of the major Cities of the world.
  • A new way of thinking and operating that will assist the close protection operator to cope with the changing environments across Europe.
  • A Catalan Mansion and grounds which is dedicated solely for the purpose of CQB and vehicle drills
  • Firearms skills and drills that have been developed over 35 years by the UK’s leading subject matter expert in CQB who has trained many Special Forces and police units around the world, including the UK.
  • You will become much more than a “bodyguard”, you will become a security advisor and protection specialist.
  • You will receive a comprehensive pre-read on close protection prior to the start of the course
  • We are not running a close protection course to operate in Afghanistan or Iraq, however what we offer is training on the rest of the world of close protection in diplomatic, executive, corporate and celebrity. You will learn how to meticulously plan and risk assess a variety of situations. You will learn what a business impact analysis is and why it is relevant in the multi-billion pound corporate world of close protection and much more.
  • You will operate in many environments from a simple coffee shop  by La Sagrada Familia, to 5 star hotels, restaurants, theatres, museums and city parks and even the underground system.
  • Between the close protection and surveillance exercises you will complete no less than 11 exercises out on the ground in the public domain.
  • We do not do death by power-point. Yes there are some theoretical elements, however we believe that under careful supervision and guidance, the best way to learn is to do it, debrief and then do it better. You will be with us to learn, not to be flatly criticised. Our process of learning, doing, debriefing and then doing it over again again is in our opinion, and the opinion of many former students and now experienced operators, the best way to learn in the real world.
  • Before starting the course, you will be provided with an orientation pack containing a course brief, additional relevant material and an overview of key socio-cultural considerations relevant to Catalonian Barcelona.
  • From the moment you enquire, you will have advisors at hand both within the UK and in Barcelona to advise and guide you
  • From the moment you arrive at the airport in Barcelona, we will be there to meet you, advise you and take you to your accommodation. During this time you will receive further information to orientate you and build the foundation. Probably over a coffee or a cold drink.
  • In order to help you during your time in Barcelona, we will provide you with a travel card that will allow you to make many journeys on trams, buses or on the Metro network.
  • You become part of the ARG family and learn from a company who has not only trained government agencies and private organisations around the world, but also from a company who is currently operational in the world of close protection, security risk management and intelligence. Furthermore, a company who’s door will remain open to you long after the course has finished.
  • Free CPD events within the UK tailored around specific subjects, whether that be in firearms, close protection, intelligence and surveillance or another key industry area.
