Having nearly completed by NEBOSH Foundation degree if you look at the H&S forums the posts are very similar in content to those on the security sites. The qual when I signed up five years ago was around £6k, whereas now you can get it for as little as £1.5k, similar to the older generation of CP courses compared to the new. This then makes it more acheivable so more people do it, training providers cut corners to maximise profits, which again is what we've seen in the security industry. Then you have a larger influx of people trying to get jobs in a market where positions are few and far between, very much like the security industry, and this is where the unprofessionalism grows between those using the same methods like social media to find work compared to those being smarter about it and using alternative methods. So are we unique as an industry or is it just basic supply and demand like in any other.
