I completed my NEBOSH General Certificate as part of my Army resettlement package.
I decided to do a H&S course to broaden my CV rather than go down the security route.
The facilities were poor with it being a run down Army facility that was about to be demolished.
The course was great and really helped dispel the myths about jobs-worth H&S advisor's. The course content was taught in a practical manner using real life scenarios and examples from the health and safety executive.
The main point from this review should be to acknowledge the standard of instructor in their lead Trevor Miller who was absolutely brilliant and by far the best instructor i have ever had teach me. Trevor knew his subject inside out and really knew how to engage in an Army environment. Amazingly he even managed not to make H&S too dull.
I have now completed study for my NEBOSH Diploma and utilise both course in conjunction with normal security role.
