I looked into many close protection courses and what every company offered and the qualifications that i would gain.
I looked into the Security College from Coventry along with many others. This was made easier as i had a friend from the armed forces who stayed in the nearby area and i was able to obtain some information on the company and the instructors. As luck would have it my friend had completed a door stewards course with them and highly recommend the company and instructors.
The course was reasonably priced which also included bed and breakfast in a hotel with the use of the gym facilities during my stay.
The course was ran by a former Bodyguard for the Royal family and special Branch officer. The other instructors were made up of ex military and Police force personnel with years of experience. The course lasted 3 weeks and was run within the hotel with the use of conference rooms and a locked classroom at our disposal. The course had 10 students fromdifferent nationalities which was a good number to make learning easier for the students and instructors alike. Also included in the course was First aid at work, Conflict resolution ( self defence ) and a firearms taster day ( off site ).
