Throughout my working life I have exercised efficiency, effectiveness and organisation. I established these skills when I first started work at 16 on a paddle steamer, but carrying this forward, and developing them, through the rest of my education in 6th form and on to the work I pursued during my gap year. I changed my career direction from Design and Product Development to Private Security at 19 when I first started work as a Door Supervisor at various establishments. Throughout this time I have learnt key skills in conflict management and the ability to stay calm and execute effective judgment in situation's other’s may find disconcerting and challenging.
I have also been privileged to work in quick response teams at Royal Ascot and the Epsom Derby where Her Majesty the Queen was present, but also in the Private Security Team that looked after the main BBC and Aljazeera Olympic Broadcasting towers just outside the Olympic Park during the Summer 2012 Olympic Games. Through my career today as a Security Officer at a challenging set of University Halls, I have been able to adopt skills that help spot any behavior that may cause students or myself to come to any harm, or indeed damage to any buildings or the site. However, due to the nature of Students, I am also heavily involved in a lot of conflicts and personal problems, between students often caused by alcohol or drugs misuse.
